Staying Alive and Well at Work

Surely the modern UK workplace is safe place to be?

One person is killed at work every working day in the UK.

Every fatal injury at work is preventable. Every death is unnecessary.

120 people are severely injured at work every working day in the UK.

A severe injury means a punctured eye, an amputated limb, asphyxiation, poisoning and hospitalisation.

Every severe injury at work is preventable. Every severe injury is unnecessary.

2.2 million people suffer a work related illness.  2000 people die every year from a single work related cause – past exposure to asbestos.

Work related illness is preventable. Work related illness is unnecessary.

There should be a law against it!

Death, injury and disease caused by work is illegal.
