Your employer must also:

P provide a clean workplace with a supply of clean fresh air, a comfortable temperature, proper lighting and adequate welfare facilities

P make sure that work equipment is maintained and used properly and is suitable for the job

P avoid the need for hazardous lifting, or if can not be avoided then reduce the risk of injury.

P prevent you being injured or made ill by exposure to harmful substances

P provide free personal protective equipment where the risks cannot be controlled by more effective means

P set up emergency procedures, provide adequate first aid cover and display suitable safety signs.

P provide you with appropriate health checks.

P have a health and safety policy and appoint someone to help them comply with the law.
